What In The World Is The Realms Cape Service And Why Does It Cost $4500?!

The Realms Mapmaker Cape was created when Marc Watson (an employee at Mojang who also has the most capes in Minecraft) started the Java Realms Content Creator Program in 2013, which officially launched in 2014. At this point, Mojang started offering the Realms Mapmaker Cape to Java Edition mapmakers for making Adventure, Inspiration, and Minigame maps. Since then, only 427 people have the cape on cape dictionary platforms (as of writing). It's likely a higher number as you can hide your capes on most cape dictionary platforms; however, it will still most likely be in the mid-hundreds.
This makes it the rarest publicly obtainable cape in Minecraft Java Edition out of the likely 100M+ Minecraft Java accounts.
If just a few hundred people getting the cape in the last 12 years doesn't make it obvious, this cape is extremely hard to qualify for. For a player trying to be awarded the cape, they have to publish at least 3 maps that must be of outstanding quality... and I mean outstanding. Even after submitting a state-of-the-art map, Mojang still often asks for revisions to be made (which our service covers)! Most people will work with 2 other builders and spend months, if not years, making the maps alongside IRL commitments. As for us, we have an extremely reliable and talented build team who create and submit the maps for the Realms Cape Service. This costs a significant amount of money and takes serious dedication for the hundreds of hours of work needed to build maps up to standard.
