The Experience cape was the first IRL obtainable cape since Minecon 2016. The cape is only obtainable via attending an IRL Minecraft Event located in different places across the World. If you can't go, don't worry, you can buy it here!

The Crafter cape is one of the most exclusive Minecraft capes released in years. It's limited release at TwitchCon Europe 2026 in Rotterdam has earned it a spot on the list of the top rarest capes, with it even surpassing a few Minecon capes in scarcity. While at first glance its hefty price tag can appear to be baseless, there’s a few reasons the market considers it as so valuable.
Unlike the various capes that have recently been made available by participating in online promotions, this cape required players to physically travel to the TwitchCon venue in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
Not every attendee of TwitchCon was given a code with their ticket – they had to earn it. Guests were given an inventory ribbon that could be attached to their TwitchCon badge. They would then have to participate in either Minecraft content sessions or Arena activities to receive emerald stickers. Once they collected 3, they could receive a physical card at the Cape Trader booth to receive the code.

The Moonlight Trail cape was given to the attendees of the second type of in-person Minecraft Experience event. Though initially only held in Buenos Aires from May 15 to August 9 in 2026, its next iteration is confirmed for Chile. This limited-edition cape can only be earned by guests who complete the experience, requiring a physical commitment that automatically restricts its supply.
While the Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue event has been hosted in many locations (including Dallas, London, Toronto, Riyadh, Herning, Mexico City, Singapore, Chicago, Oberhausen, Vienna and Shanghai), this Minecraft Experience: Moonlight Trail event has only been announced for two cities in South American countries (Buenos Aires and Santiago). However, more locations are expected.
The increased rarity of the Moonlight Trail is therefore reflected by the fewer number of cape owners. As of September 2026, the Moonlight Trail cape is approximately 6 times rarer than the Villager Rescue cape, justifying the price difference between the two.

The Villager Rescue cape (more commonly known as the Minecraft Experience cape) was the first in nearly 8 years to be distributed at a physical event, with the previous one being handed out at Minecon 2016. To obtain the cape, attendees of the Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue event must complete the experience, after which they receive the code by email or on a printed card.
Since the first event, which took place in Texas on October 18th, 2024, additional iterations have been hosted in over 9 countries, with further events being planned for Austria and China.
Today, it is considered by many as the entry-level cape to make your in-game player truly stand out, as it is owned by much fewer people than most modern capes, which are readily obtained by participating in online promotions. Our prices reflect the real travel costs, time investment and entry fees required from our suppliers to procure the Villager Rescue capes, who we have worked since the event’s launch. You can therefore rest assured that our stock is completely legitimate and secure.

In addition to releasing their own 15th Anniversary Creeper Cape, Mojang partnered with both TikTok and Twitch to give players the opportunity to claim a few more exclusive capes.
To obtain the Purple Heart Cape, players had to watch 15 minutes of any Minecraft content on Twitch between May 15th and May 31st, 2024.
However, players who wanted to obtain the Follower’s Cape had a few more steps to follow. Running from May 18th through to June 18th, 2024, players had to comment “Minecraft” on any Minecraft stream, with the condition that the creator had rewards enabled.

The release of A Minecraft Movie came alongside two new in-game cosmetics: the Menace and Home capes. Both capes were inspired by the portals featured throughout the movie, with the Menace Cape depicting the Obsidian Gateway, while the Home Cape features the Earth portal, which is exclusive to the movie.
Unlike the various capes that require players to attend an in-person event, both of these capes could be obtained through online promotions. The campaigns ran for a limited time, starting on March 18th 2025 and ending on April 6th 2025.
The Home Cape could be obtained by watching any affiliated Minecraft livestream on Twitch for three minutes, while the Menace Cape required players to watch any affiliated Minecraft livestream on TikTok for three minutes. After completing the requirements, players could redeem a code to claim the respective cape.

The Copper Age update released on September 30th, 2025, bringing copper armour, tools and weapons, the copper golem and various vanity items into the game.
Luckily for us, Mojang also accompanied the update with the Copper Cape Quest, a special three-part community challenge that ran from September 30th to October 20th, 2025.
Similarly to previous cape drops, the Copper Cape could be obtained by completing watch time quests. This time, players could choose to watch either 3 minutes of Minecraft content on any affiliated TikTok stream or 5 minutes of Minecraft content on any affiliated Twitch stream.

To celebrate the release of Minecraft Dungeons II, Mojang has added yet another cape to the collection! In contrast with the Twisted and Hero capes, this one can be obtained for free – here’s how.
Players can currently receive their cape by participating in an online promotion, starting from September 29th, running through to October 15th. By watching either a Twitch Partner or Affiliate livestream in the Minecraft Dungeons II category for 15 minutes or watching any Game Rewards-enabled Minecraft Dungeons II stream on TikTok for 3 minutes, you can obtain your very own Aurora cape.
The cape itself makes a direct reference to the Sift dimension from Minecraft Dungeons II (which is also coming to Minecraft Java and Bedrock Editions in 2027), with its blue-pink-orange gradient closely resembles the new dimension.
